About Me

Hello! I’m Kate. There are many things that I’m passionate about, but the four most important are my faith, my marriage, motherhood, and my family. Everything else can just get in line. I am a grad student turned mom and I know that someday I will get that master’s degree but for the time being, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to stay home with my son, Lboy.

I’m pretty sure that motherhood has been the hardest “course” I’ve ever taken. I mean seriously, this class involves dodging projectile vomit (this takes mad skills), while trying to avoid the other end that occasionally has projectile you know what too, consistent all nighters, & random bouts of “the professor” screaming at you for no apparent reason. But one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that spit up, dirty diapers, & sleep deprivation won’t kill me (at least not yet.)

I started blogging in March of 2010 when I was looking at a friend’s blog and thought to myself, “Hey, I can do this!” When I started clicking through her blog I was able to find so many other mom bloggers and I was blown away with the community (I was also super envious of all the cute designs.) I got hooked and haven’t looked back since.

Oh please tell me you live close to where I live. I just bought a new gas stove today and I now have an extra electric stove with a self cleaning oven sitting in the garage now! I’m going to email you.

Oh a gas stove…I’m jealous! :) I would love, love, love a gas stove! If/when we move to a new house we have 2 musts on the list, 1: Gas stove 2: A wood burning fireplace!

I’ll be looking for the email!

Hi Kate!
In response to potty training – or Botty camp as we called it: reserve one full wekend at home with NO plans. stock up on salty snacks & drinks; and ‘presents’ – ie: 1$ toys at target, wrapped and placed in a clear bowl out of reach…this is reward for pooping. reward for peeing – cookies. – place the little potty in the middle of the family room, where you will spend the entire weekend starting Sat morning. Feed them salty stuff & drinks to get them to go more. ask them every 30 mins if they have to go potty; every 60 mins place them on the potty regardless. Child is wearing only new potty training friendly (sorta padded) underwear – maybe they get to pick them out for added incentive? no t.v. unless child has just pooped/peed/ Its VERY boring and frustrating, but do NOT give up — by Sunday night, you should have it in the bag!! Good luck!
