DDay Remembered

06/05/2011 by Kate P. 7 Comments

November 1945

USS Harold C. Thomas

Though my grandfather wasn’t at D-Day (one of Todd’s grandfathers survived the second wave at Normandy!), I always think about him & all those who served throughout World War II. He was in the South Pacific during the second World War & served aboard the ship shown above.

I hope it’s a day that will never be forgotten!

Thank you to all the military, past, present & future who keep our nation safe!

What a handsome guy! I love WWII vets… their generation is such a cool group of people. Tough as nails, hard working, great sense of humor, and totally understand that PEOPLE are more important than money. I hate that they’re getting to the point where they’re older and their health is failing and that we’ve got fewer and fewer of them still living.
I love that you’re remembering the D Day vets.

My grandpa was also in WW2. Navy. I miss him terribly. I pray for all the souls past and present.
