Picture overlooking Antigua, Guatelama from Todd’s trip |
Todd is back from Guatemala! And I am back from visiting my fam!
I have a lot of commenting to get back to, a lot of blogs to visit, & a lot of posts to write! And I’m very excited to be back in full swing!
This past week was a great one! Lboy & I went to go visit my parents, my grandparents, aunts, uncles & friends in my home town. We went swimming everyday, got sno-cones everyday (homemade icecream is my favorite! But so are wild strawberry & watermelon), went to the lake, & basically had a blast!
Todd got to do so many awesome things too! He said that his trip was a very powerful experience! One of the coolest things he got to do was meet with the Vice President of the entire country. I’ve had several people tell me that they didn’t think that meeting with him was a big deal because he’s the VP of a small country. This is my response to that: “Are you the VP of a country? Any Country? No? Then shut your mouth.” lol 🙂 But in all seriousness, I’m glad to have him back!
The hardest part about him being gone was that we weren’t able to talk AT ALL for seven straight days! Maybe you do that all the time, but we’ve never done that before. We emailed a few times, but basically had zero contact with each other. NOT.FUN. Fortunately, Lboy kept me so busy that I didn’t really have time to think about it during the day. And I was so exhausted by the time I got to bed that I didn’t have time to think about it at night either. That’s the great thing about 13 month olds–they keep you on your feet!
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

Glad everyone got back safely! I can't imagine being separated and not having any contact for 7 seven days. I know you're happy to have him back home.

You are so right! Meeting the Vice President of any country should be exciting. When my oldest son was on a mission trip, he spent a lot of time talking with the prince of a war-torn country who was his age. It was a very impacting experience! So impacting, I want my other sons to make similar trips.
I am so jealous that you get to be a Diva! I think there would be a coup in my house if I tried. Of course, they probably think I am, but they have absolutely no idea!
Yeah for vacations, snowcones and family time! Glad you're back, though and am looking forward to the stories!

I'd be psyched about meeting the VP of any country! That's awesome.
7 days with no communication would be hard 🙁 Jorge and I have gone a month without seeing eachother, but we've always been in touch at least.
Welcome back!
