Was your weekend Wild or Mild?

03/08/2011 by Kate P. 34 Comments

This weekend was amazing.

We didn’t do anything super special, it was one of those weekends that is full of so much simplicity that it makes it so much fun.

On Saturday morning, we went to the library to meet up with a friend & her daughter for a story time. It was the first time Todd has ever been with us since the library was hosting a weekend program.

On Sunday, we went to church, then home for Lboy’s nap, later to the park, & then out to eat with our friends, Spencer & Robin (who by the way moved 2 hours away & abandoned us. We are trying our hardest to forgive them for it.)

We ordered an awesome queso from Chili’s new Wild & Mild menu.
We figured out we have really good friends when they let our kid double dip & they kept eating the cheese dip regardless.
They “oohed” & “awed” over my kid in all the appropriate amounts (seriously can you blame them?)
They didn’t care when he got grumpy because it was close to his bedtime, instead they played with him.
I tried to get Lboy to take a pic with me. He wasn’t interested, his Sprite was too good.

And our server took our picture & I promised Robin & Spencer I’d make them famous on the internet, & I didn’t get one funny look for mentioning the words
“a review for my blog.”
Family, friends & food….Who could ask for more?
What did you do this weekend? Was it wild or mild?
I was compensated for this post by Chili’s. It did not influence my opinion of the food or the experience. Like I said in my Florida’s Natural Orange Juice product review if anything had tasted like cat pee, I would have told you, Scouts Honor.

Thanks! Yeah, Todd & I both have green eyes. I just loved it when Todd told the whole restaurant that Lboy came from the mailman because we don't know where his blue eyes came from. lol

The picture with the queso on Lboy's face is so cute. You know you have real friends when they don't mind eating after your double dipping child.

Sounds like a great weekend. We had a good weekend as well. It was my first weekend off in a long time so me and baby girl spent some much needed quality time.

Looks like you guys had a fun weekend! Ours was mild as well. We rented some movies from Blockbuster and vegged out on the couch while it snowed. Not very happening, but it was fun.

I'm in love with his curls! Someone asked me when I was going to cut his hair & I was like "have you seen how precious it is?!" Until it starts looking like a mullet, I'm keeping it the way it is!

Hey hey hey, youb4re saying you canb4t call wrlkahooics best show, because it only had one seasson, but in your first paragraph you called best show Louie, wich also has only one seasson. So, I donb4t know what to say, just re-read what you write before posting it so you donb4t look like an ass.

Can I have Robin and Spencer's autograph! They are the latest thing. Good thing they took that Cat-piss-Rita off the menu finally. Chilis Rocks with kids in tow!!

I really need to get into this whole PR thing…any suggestions as to where to start? Or are those secrets on lockdown?

great news! We used sign language with our son, but more and hngury/eat were the only things that stuck around really. We didn’t go all out with cat , bath , etc just wanted him to be able to tell us the important stuff, like Feed me, you lousy parental units, before I call DHS!! Our grand-daughter is using it now, and again, those are the words that really stick. She touches her fingers to her temple for a bottle not sure how that came about, but at least we know what she wants.

    Your son is ADORABLE!

Our weekend was definitely MILD. Goose & I arrived home from work/daycare Friday to find that we'd beaten Hubs home from court. Spent the evening running a few errands then chillin' at home. Saturday we had Family fun Night at my parents' with my sister, BIL and their two kids. My parents had just returned from Hawaii so we got some presents, ate some pizza & yummy snacks and had a lot of fun playing with the kids and having a Guys vs Gals CatchPhrase tournament 🙂 Sunday Hubs pulled an over-time shift so Goose and I spent the day playing while he slept, then the evening settling down and getting ready for the week ahead while Hubs worked… a little bummed that our family weekend was so short, but we sure did make the most of what we had 🙂

Well, my weekend was filled with a day at the hospital and then a day catching up on school crap. I think that = crappy, not fun.

I know that wasn't one of the choices. 🙂

But during the week last week, I went to FL. So that makes up for it.

I can barely recall a "wild" weekend anymore, so I'd have to say ours was "mild"…but it's amazing how simplicity really is so awesome since having children. Some of the best times are going to the park, getting ice cream, going out for an easy dinner…less is definitely more these days. 🙂

So glad you had a great dinner with friends! And that queso looks pretty yummy!

Wild or mild, I love it! Haven't been to Chili's in a while. It's perfect for dining with a toddler. Most of my weekends are pretty tame now that I'm a mom.

Oh, who am I kidding, they were pretty tame before.

    Cute pics.
