A New Meme: Old School Blogging

03/11/2013 by Kate P. 9 Comments

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?

In March of 2003, I was a freshman was University of the Ozarks. We had just finished our basketball season & for the first time that year I was able to live in complete collegiate freedom. No more practices, no more coach telling me what to do, no more commitments beyond class. It was awesome! Probably some of my best memories come from that year.ร‚ย

2. What 5 things are on your to-do list?

  • Take the kids to the indoor playground (20 degrees here today, but on Saturday it was 65, what the heck?!!)
  • Email a shop owner in town to ask her some questions for an interview that I’m doing (so excited!!)
  • Do the dishes.
  • Do some house cleaning since we’re trying to sell our house (anyone wanting to buy a house in Northwest Arkansas?!)
  • Find my Kindle warranty & my iPhone 5 insurance info because they are both broken (dying here!)

3. What are 5 snacks you enjoy?

Right now, Cadbury eggs, strawberry, banana, blueberry smoothies (with some Kale), homemade granola bars, Reese’s pieces.

4. Name some things you would do if you were a millionaire:

I would pay off our house, student loans, put money away for retirement, & set up college funding for the kids.ร‚ย

I’d give money to my parents, my in-laws, & a few churches & charities that are important to us.

I’d buy 2 very reliable cars.

I’d save the rest for really awesome vacations, as in Europe & Caribbean. That would be awesome!

And I’ll be honest, I’d SHOP like a mad woman. ๐Ÿ™‚

5. Name some places you have lived:

I’m an Arkansas girl through & through. But I’veร‚ย traveledร‚ย a lot across the US & I’ve been to Spain & Mexico, each for extended amount of time.

6. Name some bad habits you have:

I tend to let my anxiety get the best of me sometimes & I need to work on listening more, speaking my opinion less. ๐Ÿ˜‰

7. Name some jobs you have had:

I’ve worked at a couple fitness centers, Lifeguard, worked at my dad’s law firm, worked for the University of Arkansas as a graduate assistant, & at two churches in youth ministry.

8. Name those you are tagging for #OSBlog:

Kimberly, Liz, Jessica

    1. What were you doing 10 years ago?

In March of 2003, I was a student at UALR. I was burned out and ready for a change. I decided to take a break from college after that semester. I worked as a receptionist at a law-firm, went to Mother Teresa’s beatification, and then in the spring semester of 2004 I transferred to Benedictine College. Over all THE BEST decisions I have made!

    2. What 5 things are on your to-do list?
Have fun with J. Frank who is visiting on his spring break!
Work on cleaning out closets (while I have a strong young man to help me).
    Vacuum
    Do laundry
Read my devotionals that I have forgotten to read for 2 days. (Younger brother being here kind of distracted me).

    3. What are 5 snacks you enjoy?

Home made yogurt with honey and vanilla in it (taste the same as store bought vanilla yogurt but is so much better for you!) fresh fruit of any sort, dry cereal, chocolate, and hot tea.

    4. Name some things you would do if you were a millionaire:

Pay off my husband’s student loans, buy a second car, expand my kitchen.

    5. Name some places you have lived:

California, Kansas (two different cities in Kansas), Arkansas (at least two different towns).

    6. Name some bad habits you have:

Being over anxious and drinking way to much Diet Coke.

    7. Name some jobs you have had:

I worked as a law firm receptionist. With a friend in college we started a local coffee shop that raises money for college missionaries (still runs at my old college! How awesome is that!) I worked as an editor for a private firm who works with writers. Now I am a chef, house keeper, pre-school teacher, ballet teacher, nurse, and so much more! (i.e. stay-at-home wife and mother)

Are you moving away or just changing houses? It’s pretty where you live, yes? I think Arkansas is gorgeous. And you must speak Spanish with all the travels to Spain and Mexico… *jealous*

    Thanks for linking up! ๐Ÿ™‚

We are moving closer to my husband’s job. Right now he’s a commuter & he’s not enjoying it one bit. We’re going to try to make his 45 minute commute a 10 minute one. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love Arkansas, I know I’m biased since I’m from here, but I do believe it’s gorgeous!

My husband & I both speak Spanish (he is able to use his more at work than I get to use mine–I do speak *kid* very well! ha!) I have a bachelor’s in Spanish with a co-major in Latin American Studies. I’m a latina at heart, what can I say?!

Thanks for hosting the awesome meme!!!

EXACTLY!!!!! Of course I’d shop & I’m not going to lie, I would buy outrageously expensive stuff, like investing in a really nice Chanel bag. *swoon* lol

I love the Cadbury cream eggs – they should be forbidden. I can not resist them at this time of year!

I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Cadbury eggs but I had one a few weeks ago and I didn’t like it. What happened to me?
