Getting to know YOU

1. Do you think mustaches are sexy?
Nope. Well maybe on some people. I love Todd with a beard though. And I thought I would always think that was disgusting.

2. What’s the last concert you’ve been to?
Oh gosh–Collective Soul in 2007. I’m really not a live music fan (quit throwing rocks at me.) But Todd LOVES live music. I need to make more of an effort to go with him. Maybe I’ll go to a concert when he takes me to see a ballet. ha!

3. What was your favorite 80’s sitcom?
Uh–I was just born in the 83–so I was an infant all the way to 6 in the 80s. I didn’t watch much TV. Too young. But I loved Rainbow Brite. Was she a product of the 80s?!

4. Were you named after anyone?
Oh goodness, yes! Katherine because my mom always loved the name Katherine because of strong women like Katherine Hepburn. And trust me she got her STRONG Kate. And I’m 4th generation Elizabeth after my great-grandmother, grandmother, & mother. No pressure to name any girl I have Elizabeth, none at all. (: (Honestly, my mom has already told me she doesn’t care if I have an Elizabeth or not.)

5. When you buy new clothes, do you wash before wearing?
No. My mom always laughs at me because I’m the kind of person who leaves the store in a new outfit & I just have the clerk ring the tags up. I love having new clothes!

6. If you didn’t blog, what would you do with your spare time?
I was doing a lot of reading before I started blogging, I mean a LOT. Now I have pretty much found a balance of blogging & reading because I love me some books!

7. What is your favorite department store?
Dillard’s I guess. I loved the Department Stores in Mexico–they had some AWESOME malls. And to top them all, don’t get me started on the stores/malls in Spain. El Corte Ingles was one in Spain & it was awesome.

8. If you were to get Laser Hair Removal..where would you get it?Underarms, bikini line, & legs.

    I love your answers! I have never been to Dillard's before, I don't think they have them here in Cali. Macy's is just like a Nordstrom, I love it 🙂

  11. I hate mustaches too. It makes me think they are dirty (in every sense of the word) and I have no idea why. And to be honest – I hate live music too. I know this is gonna make me sound really old…but its too loud for me. I am dead serious btw. Man…I'm already an old fart!

  12. I don't like live music EITHER!! 😀 Why go out with friends if the music is too loud to talk to them?? Not to mention trying to see over tall people.

    Dept stores in Mexico ARE awesome! I can't express to you how much we love Liverpool. That's where we registered 🙂

  13. 80's sitcom has to be cheers, what a classic. As for hair removal don't even go there. My wife talked me into letting her wax me a couple of years back, I'm still hurting now!!!

  14. I think live music is a waste. I can't think of anyone that could possibly sound better live than they do on their recording.

    I think mustaches are gross.

    And I was little, but I loved the Wonder Years.

Getting to know YOU

It’s Sunday! My favorite day of the week all because I love “Getting to Know You!” (Pun absolutely intended.)

1. What is YOUR definition of sexy?
In men: Todd. hahahaha
In order for me to feel sexy: a good dark bra under a sheer white shirt

2. Would you rather clean up puke or change a poopy diaper?
Change a poopy diaper! For sure!

3. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Total extrovert.

4. If you had to give up one of your 5 senses for a year..which one would you give up?
Taste–I bet I’d get super skinny if I couldn’t taste cake, icecream, cookies, all things chocolate. Man that would be awesome!

5. Cake or Pie?
Cake! But I love Apple Pie–but here is where it gets complicated. The apples have to come from my grandparents’ apple tree.

6. If you could play any character on TV (old or current) who would you play?
Rachel from Friends. I own all 10 seasons on DVD & have Friends-a-thons all.the.time.

7. My favorite website is…..?
mommymonologues.com? 🙂 I honestly don’t think I have a favorite site. But the first thing I do in the morning is check my email–so http://www.gmail.com/ is my favorite site.

8. The highlight of my day is….?
Lboy’s bedtime? That’s terrible, I know. But he’s a handful. It’s the one time of the day I get to be myself, have an adult conversation with my husband, & do my own thing (reading, blogging, reading, blogging 🙂

  1. That's so sweet about the apple pie! I love that. We used to have an apple tree and my mom made the best pies….I think she's since given up. Haha.

    And I'm so with you on best part of the day. I love getting the little guy up in the morning, but it can go down hill pretty quickly 🙂

    If I had to be anyone on TV I would be Carrie from Sex and the City. She had an awesome wardrobe and got to make out with dreamy men!

  5. Nothing wrong with loving bedtime!! That doesn't mean that the times in between him waking up and going to bed aren't memorable….but I always had a big sigh and a smile when my little ones went to bed!!

  6. Yep, bedtime is definitely a favorite time of day around here! Close second is first thing in the morning before the princesses are up. Just me, my cuppa joe and the computer. Bliss.

  8. Girl, no guilt… I love Andrew's betime, too. It turns into Heather-time. Not mommy time. Not wife time. HEATHER TIME! I can read my mags, blogs, watch some shows, actually take a decent shower… Bedtime is awesome.

1. If a person has a booger in their nose. and you can see it, do you tell them?
Normally, but I try to do it privately because I’m terrified of embarrassing them. But I think it would be more embarrassing to have boog hanging out of your nose all day.
2. What are you passionate about?
My faith, my marriage, my family, my schooling. And all in that order too. But I tend to be pretty passionate about everything & I quite frequently have to tell myself to calm down!
3. How long have you been blogging?
Two & a half months.
4. What is your favorite “summer” drink?
Coca-cola or sweet tea!
5. What is your favorite type of music?
Country–I think mostly because it reminds me of running around on my grandparents farm.
Classical–Bet you weren’t expecting that after reading country were you?! lol
6. Something I do before I go to bed is……?
I always read a book, even if it’s just a few pages.
7. My Summer vacation plans are…?
Ha! My husband is going to Guatemala for 10 days this summer, I’m doing baby duty. So, I’m going to go visit my family for a week or so (I think.)
8. My favorite must have, can’t live without, beauty product is?
Is face wash a beauty product? Is chap stick? In the summer time I love Clinique’s Self Tanner. It’s easy to put on, it doesn’t streak, & it ALWAYS looks great….oh & there isn’t that whole skin cancer thing either. 🙂

Getting to Know You

This is my first time doing this! Thank you Mann Land 5! So here is my first try at Getting to Know you! I can’t wait to head over and visit the other bloggers participating!

The questions…

1. Do you have a fetish? I collect journals–I love them. Half of them are in boxes, blank. Some are full. Some are half full & half empty.

2. Do you sing in the shower? Nope–does that make me boring? Usually, I’m just trying to get in there & out of there as fast as I can because my toddler hates for me to shower.

3. Who was your first crush? Three letters ladies, J.T.T–that’s right, Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I’m sure I liked boys before this, but JTT was the one that was the worst. His poster literally was tacked onto the ceiling above my bed & then I had JTT “wallpaper” made out of posters from teenie magazines!

4. What do you think is the best manly trait a guy could have? Gosh–let me just post a pic of my husband! Does that count?! No? Okay– I love it when Todd does something outdoorsy (yes I made up that word) that I had no idea he could do. Like when we are out camping & he gets all Macgyver-esk.

5. Do you sleep naked? Hahaha, I’m busting out in embarrassed giggles– No I don’t actually. I have two t-shirts that I love to sleep in & a few night gowns, but let me tell you something. I’m a princess & the pea, a diva, a prima donna if you will when it comes to sleeping. Meaning, I have to be absolutely, 100% comfortable otherwise I can’t sleep, so I aim for comfort & sleeping naked is not comfy to me. In fact, I hate sleeping that way.

6. What do you do when (you think) no one is looking? Oh the usual…pick my nose, pick wedgies… 🙂

7. What’s the first thing you do when you go online? I pull up three web pages at the same time: msn.com, gmail, & my blog.

8. Summer is…..? An American’s favorite past time to reminisce over. Summer is “The Sandlot.”  Summer is listening to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Fishin’ in the Dark” (I’m half-redneck) on the back of a pick-up truck, drinkin’ cokes & watchin’ the fire flies dance. Summer is walking up the street to the neighborhood pool with my brothers & sisters. Summer is life guarding.  Summer is creating happy memories at my grandparents’ farm in the fields with my cousin, Kelley, with her binoculars & pocket knives, discovering new worlds in 400 acres of adventure. Summer is creating new memories with Lboy.

Summer is…..the best!

    • Hi Emily!I’m a long-time reader but I’m cotenmming for the first time. I planned on cotenmming BEFORE I saw that you were giving something away, mostly to tell you that I spent 2 years in a house with no bathroom curtain and would routinely walk around in the buff. That was until a neighbor told my grandparents (also my neighbors) that there was someone inappropriate living in the house next door. Oops! Thank God I’m not living there anymore. A room in my house to spiff up? Our basement! We’re making it into a game room and it would be cool to have some fun accessories in there. Cool giveaway!

    It was finally "hot" here today. We were in the mid to high 80's today. I grew up in FL so I think people are absurd when they think that is blistering hot. New Englanders loves to complain about the weather. Too cold, too hot, too rainy…the weather and unhappiness with it is almost a guaranteed topic with one person you speak to out of your day.
