No Friday Flip Off–Graduation & Birthday!

I was going to write a “Friday Flip Off” post. I’ve actually been writing it in my head since Tuesday. But, I’ve got too much to be happy about this weekend to dwell on the things that drove me crazy this week (it was the usual money being too tight, Christmas season being too expensive, house looking like a wreck and then the not so usual, woke up with a hurt neck…AGAIN! Think I need new pillows?!)

This weekend is HUGE for our family! First up, Todd graduates from his masters program on Saturday at 10:00 AM sharp! For the last eight weeks he has been working 50-60 hours a week and then two nights a week he went to class for four hours. On the nights he didn’t have class he came home and played with Lboy while I cooked supper, then he helped me put Lboy to bed (30-45 minute routine), then he would help me pick up around the house, and then went to bed and started the next day bright and early. I am so very proud of him and happy for our family!

Second, Sunday is my 27th Birthday! We aren’t going to do much. But, I am going to make my usual Strawberry cake with Strawberry Icing (have it every year!) and just hang out with my boys. It’s going to be a quiet, simple, yet wonderful day.

In between those big events, we have another birthday party celebration for one of Todd’s coworkers on Friday night. Then Saturday evening, Todd and I are going out to celebrate his graduation. And both nights we will have babysitters-wow! We haven’t gone out the two of us in forever, let alone two nights in a row! We are looking forward to the adult time out on the town!

So you see, money being tight, Christmas being expensive, a messy house, and a sore neck are really not that big in the grand scheme of things.

I haven’t been able to get a pic of Todd yet, but trust me, I will have graduation pics up next week! I told him he looks like Harry Potter in his cap and gown–he really loved that! *note the sarcasm*
