Stick Figure Saturday–75th Wedding Anniversary

07/31/2010 by Kate P. 14 Comments

Don’t forget to check out my Scentsy Warmer Giveaway (July 26-Aug 2!)

Today, my great aunt & uncle (my grandfather’s sister & brother-in-law) are celebrating their 75TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! No, this isn’t a typo–they were married in 1935 at the tender ages of 15 & 16. Can you imagine 75 years?!! That’s so awesome!

There’s a HUGE shindig today & sadly I can’t make it but I thought we could celebrate in the blogosphere (I did make it to their 60, 65, & 70th parties!) Their oldest kiddo is 74 years old & their youngest is 60– they are in charge of the party plans. I guess having parents in their 90s keeps them young!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO AN AMAZING COUPLE!
Know anyone who has been married a REAAAALLLY LONG TIME?!

How exciting! I don't think I know anyone who has been married that long. I think my husband's grandparents have been married over 60 but I'm not sure! I bet they have lots of advice of marriage!

Sometimes I feel like I've been married 75 years…only joking, hope my wife of 6 years doesn't read this or I'm in trouble!!
Seriously though, this is pretty amazing and congratulations to the happy couple.

These long marriages amaze me. Staying married is one thing, both living that long is just uncanny. My grandparents have been married 58 years. Amazing.
