The Roller coaster called Stomach Bug

04/22/2010 by Kate P. 11 Comments

Wolverine didn’t wake up until 11 am this morning and when he woke up he looked like he felt great. Fast forward to 3 pm & he’s vomiting…AGAIN! This is Day 7 of his bug. I called the nurse, got really annoyed when she didn’t call me back, my phone dings at 7 pm telling me I have a voicemail, & apparently the nurse had called me back 5 minutes after I had called her but my phone didn’t ring & the vmail didn’t show up until much much later. I am soooo frustrated! The nurse wanted the doctor to see Wolverine ASAP, so now I’m a nervous wreck & I won’t calm down until I get him in front of the doctor tomorrow morning. And I just feel so bad for him to be feeling bad for this long, it’s seriously scaring me that something worse is wrong. I tend to freak out that way. I can take a simple virus & turn it into cancer, a rare illness, a disease that no one has ever heard of, etc etc.

Needless to say, I have not been able to blog today. I wrote half a post before the vomiting started. He’s asleep (probably not for long) so I thought I’d get a short post in–the rest of the week is going to be devoted to getting Wboy well. Hopefully next week he will be 100%, things will get back to normal, my house will be clean once again, & I can hang out in the blogosphere.

While I have a chance, I wanted to thank Jessica @ Mommy’s Sippy Cup for giving me The Honest Scrap Award. I seriously was soooo excited b/c a) I love her blog! b) It helped make my day a little brighter. I honestly think that people are giving me awards this week because they feel sorry for me having a sick kid–and I’ll milk that for all it’s worth! lol I will also be spreading the love on this award too when I get the chance (that makes two awards to hand out once I’m back into full swing–I have lots of doctor’s bills to pay since Wolverine has been sick, so if you would like an award I will take cash, check, or you can pay me via paypal–ha!)

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you like what you see & will subscribe to my blog via Email and/or visit my Facebook page so you can see all the posts! Or look for me on Twitter so we can chat!

Hey Kate! I'm soooooooo sorry to hear that Logan is still sick. Last year my 2YO had a stomach bug that also lasted 7 days! I say that to encourage you that it is most likely not something more serious. Just a bad virus. The one things the nurse will be most concerned about is if he is dehydrated. That's probably why they want to see him. Signs of dehydration are them being lethargic. Try to get him to sip pedialite. Oh, I so feel your pain. The 7th day was when I finally broke down and cried in utter exhaustion! Oh the amount of cleaning and caring and the worry. I hope you have peace. Praying for you and Logan. Keep me posted!

Thanks Laura! That totally made me feel better! Pedialyte is the only thing that he will drink right now, so that's comforting. He doesn't want to have anything to do with other drinks…He was semi-active today, but I can tell he doesn't feel good still…I'll definitely keep you updated! Sorry I didn't get back to your email-I'll try to tomorrow!

try not to worry kate (and as i say this i know i'd be worried too just because we're moms, it's what we do!). i had a bad virus a little while ago and it lasted awhile and ava caught it and it lasted a couple days for her as well. he's just working it out of his system and hopefully it will just serve to build his immune system so it won't happen again!

i really hope he feels better soon for both your sakes!! i know it's no fun to worry about your baby!

on a more positive note – congrats on getting the award!! and the linkwithin looks great! 🙂

I hope he feels better too! It is so hard when our little ones don't seem to get better. We just went through a round of c.difficil (sp?) with our 1 year old that lastest about 2 months. It was horrible. So frustrated when the doctor couldn't fix it immediately! Here's to quick recouping! Stopping by from SITS!
