The first Valentine’s Day Todd & I were married I had a 13 week old puppy. I was pretty obsessed with him. I mean, I was so obsessed with the dog that I quit working out in the evenings so I get home from sooner just so I could cuddle…with the dog. I had turned into one of those dog parents that I couldn’t stand!
That year Valentine’s Day landed on a work day, so on my way home from work, I stopped by a friend’s office to say hello. She was cleaning up her work space and a co-worker of hers came to introduce herself. She immediately asked me what my V-day plans were since I was newlywed. Bow-chika-chika-wow-wow, or so she thought.
I told her I was going home to play with my new dog. Insert photo of blank, glaring stare I got from the woman.
At which point she told me all about how she was a true romantic who wrote her husband love notes every day just to remind him that she loved him after 30 years. And she informed me that if I wanted to be married to the dog, then I could find out how long that would make me happy.
But seriously you guys, which one would you have wanted to go home to that evening?!
This year, forget the dog, I’m kickin’ it with the baby. Cause he’s pretty stinkin’ cute too!

This just made me laugh out loud!!! That picture of Todd is the bestest. (Does he know he's a feature today???) 🙂
My hubby always complains about Valentine's Day, in that it is so close to my birthday (on the 23rd), and "life just isn't fair". HA! We don't have any great traditions since we got married, but the last couple of years I've dressed the girls up and made a nice dessert, and of course took lots of pictures. I'm hoping we can maybe add a lunch date or something (the four of us) into the mix this year.

Valentine's Day is a family affair here. We're going to have chocolate fondue and exchange little presents.
