WARNING: THIS IS LONG!!!

04/09/2010 by Kate P. 9 Comments

First, I’m a featured blogger over at The Make Shift Revolution! Go check out my interview! If you haven’t read this blog before I think you’ll like it. Mary Allison is really onto something–read her about me section & you’ll be hooked! Here’s MY LINK & you can read all about me!

*Question: How do you feel about giving out your city & state info on your blog? I’m a newbie to this…just wondering other people’s thoughts.
—————————————————————————————————–

Second, I went to “my dashboard” part of my blog site to check out the updated blog post list & blogger is telling me “you are not currently following any blogs”–what the heck?!! I’m kind of stressing out here! I have no friggin clue what the URL’s were to all the blogs I follow! What will do without them?! But I went to a few blogs that I know I follow & it says I’m following them, so it’s a glitch with blogger I guess. Anyone ever had this happen to them?
—————————————————————————————————–

Third, It’s FX FRIDAY!!!
WEEK 1

Day 1: I got my shoes on, my cute little running clothes on, got Wolverine loaded up in the stroller, battled the dog at the front door (he thought he was getting to go with me, sorry bud). Made it 15:01 minutes around the neighborhood before the monsoon hit! Why didn’t I check the weather? Fortunately, I was prepared, at least in regards to Wolverine. (picture posted below!)
Day 2: Begged, pleaded, bribed, paid, & ultimately blackmailed Asked Phatness to watch Wolverine while my little brother & I went & ran at the track. I wanted to time myself running a full 5k–ran it in 35. 19 minutes. So I guess I won’t be far off from running it in under 30 minutes if I work really hard.
Day 3: Happy Easter! Went to grandparents’ 400 acre farm to see all the fam! I took my running shoes but was having way too much eating my body weight visiting with everyone. But Wolverine had a blast hunting Easter eggs for the first time.
Day 4: Monday was extremely busy, but I managed to squeeze in another run. It was a hard one, it wasn’t as flat as running on the track. But I did that on purpose–I know there will be hills on 30th of April. I ran a full 5k again, ran it in 35.03. So I’m staying pretty consistent. Sidenote: WOlverine starts getting REALLY grumpy on this day, we aren’t sure why.
Day 5: Wolverine is still very grumpy & today we know why! He woke up with 4, yes 4, new teeth cutting! Poor baby! Needless to say, I didn’t make it on a run this night. He doesn’t handle teething very well.
Day 6: Wolverine is still very difficult & we’ve discovered a 5th tooth! I’m very overwhelmed with mothering! But I do manage to work in the garden for a little bit, while Wolverine played in the front yard. He would have nothing to do with the stroller, therefore no run.
Day 7: Long day for Phatness! Didn’t get a run in this day either…I’m starting to think that this 5k thing is crap! But Phatness did promise me that he will watch Wolverine so that I run the next night–the start of week 2.
I am feeling pretty confident since I’m running at the 35 minute mark. I’m just not sure if I can knock the 5 minutes off in 3 weeks–we’ll see! So, there ya have it, my running week!
Hope y’all had a great week! Fill me in on you’re favorite thing you did!!!

What a great idea. I loved reading about your week. Ah, the rain while running out. I hope it wasn't freezing. And, way to go running the 5K. I'd love to hear more about your running adventures : )

And, one more thing, every time I come to your blog it looks more and more amazing. You're my inspiration on how one can grow their blog. Hopefully i'll get my act together soon.

Hope you have a great weekend : )

Good for you, Kate. I know you're going to have no problem running the 5k in under 30 minutes. Is that a BOB revolution stroller you have? My husband is supposed to buy one soon!! He actually got me an Ironman for Christmas but we decided to return it for the Revolution. I just hope my little one doesn't cry in the stroller the way she cries in the car.

Favorite thing I did this week?? Hm. I bought the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD and started working out. Woot woot! I'm on my way to "getting shredded." Ha.

I think I registered for the BOB Revolution, but ended up getting a Schwinn. It's been absolutely AMAZING! I have it loaded up in the back of my car permanently, that thing can go anywhere! You'll love having one!

Logan used to do TERRIBLE in his car seat when he younger, he's gotten better though. But he always did AMAZING in his stroller-sometimes I wonder if it makes a differece for him to ride forward as opposed to backwards?

You are waaaay braver than I am to attempt Jillian Michaels-she scares me! ha Good Luck doing it! Hope you have fun! I secretly love exercising (once I'm finished for the day.)

Wow – I wish I had the interest in running. But I know better 🙂 only the gym for me (once in a blue moon).

My favorite thing this week – taking my sugar plum to the zoo for the first time on Easter Sunday.
