On the morning of May 22, 2009, I started feeling labor pains, they were minor, small, not that big of a deal. I even went to the doctor that day for a checkup. I didn’t even mention that I was feeling anything.
By May 23, I could not understand why this baby wasn’t coming. I had been up all night, had a trip to the hospital, had an awful nurse who told me I wasn’t in labor, she sent me home, & I was asking “WHY ISN’T HE HERE ALREADY?!!!”
At one point that day (between contractions of course) my father turns to me & says, “What day did you & Todd meet again?” Without even needing to think about it, I responded, “May 24, 2006.”
Then it dawned on me, “This baby isn’t going to come until May 24. He was meant to be born on the 3rd anniversary of Todd & I meeting.” That realization changed everything, I knew I was going to have to wait it out.
Two hours & 25 minutes after it becoming the 24th, my precious angel made his appearance into this world after 43 1/2 hours of labor, 39 of it drug free, weighing 7 lbs & 8 oz, 21 inches long.
It was an amazing day & he was absolutely beautiful!
My only question for you is, can you please tell me why they grow up so fast? Because it’s breaking my heart & making it swell with joy all at the same time!

I quite honestly have no idea! Todd hung up the onesie Lboy wore home from the hospital in a shadow box in his bedroom & I burst into tears when I saw it! lol He was so little & now he’s big! #mothers (Love my twitter hashtag?!! haha)

I don’t know why they grow so fast. When I look back at pictures of my own children as newborns, I can barely remember them being that tiny. 🙁 It definitely is bittersweet.

UGGG. I’m having such a hard time with this too. My big one is 7 and he’s becoming so mature. I also have two younger ones and I find myself smothering them (like not letting them go to sleep so I can snuggle them more) because my big one is becoming so independent. Waaaah!
They do grow up TOO fast! Time is a crazy thing. It is very hard to look at my baby (17 months) and not think about my oldest (now 8) and remember her when she was that age. Makes you really start to appreciate every moment…
