All Things Pumpkin (and Halloween!)

10/11/2012 by Kate P. 17 Comments

I was going to have a Halloween party this year. I don’t even like Halloween, no seriously, I’m one of those people. I don’t like to dress up & I was going to this year. But, we literally have something going on every.single.weekend the month of October leading up to Thanksgiving. It’s been like that at our house since the weekend of May 19, not even joking.

Instead, I’ll be having my party on my Pinterest Board, “Halloween!” These were all the glorious things I was going to do for the party (click the pictures to be taken to the original link:)

The Inspiration!

Because who doesn’t love lanterns?!

Fun centerpieces!

Fun Treats for the Kids!

Fun games!

What I *dreamed* my porch would look like!

And then I would have sent them home with some great goodies!

So, there is the “party” we were going to have. For now, the party is just happening on Pinterest. Maybe next year! *sigh*

Have any *parties* that are taking place on Pinterest?

I have grandiose plans for a Halloween party, too…also Pinterest-inspired. At the very least, I think we’ll have another couple over for dinner the weekend before. The mom is pinning all sorts of Halloween-y stuff on Pinterest, too, so we agree we need some kind of outlet. HA!

I’m SO happy to see you back in the blogosphere! I have an email in draft to you, just to say hello…hope to catch up with you soon, Kate!

MANDY!!!!! I have been reading your posts when they pop up in my Facebook feed. I have been meaning to email you for weeks now (we’ve had a hectic 2 months.)

I like your idea of inviting another family over, I need to remember to keep it simple. I’m either invite 50 people or no one at all kind of person. Maybe we could have 1 or 2 families over. That way the kids get to have fun & I still have an excuse to decorate!

So glad to hear from you!

Oh, the pressures of the holidays!! I am the same way. I have all these intentions, but in the end I just don’t have the time (or the stamina) to do those Martha Stewart Halloweens. But it seems that kids just want a good time, and as long as they get to dress up and go trick or treating, they’re happy! Hope you have a good Halloween!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!!

Keep it Simple really needs to become my motto. I’m such an all or nothing kind of person. I tend to focus on go all out & then I either pull it off OR we do nothing. We’ve decided that we’re going to trick or treat at my husband’s office (they invite all the families up to the home office to bring the kids– it’s so cool) & then that night we will T or T in our neighborhood. We’ll have tons of fun regardless of a party!

I’m still loving the post you wrote yesterday, it really got me thinking. I love posts that do that!

They don’t celebrate Halloween here so this is a fun way to have a party!

Isn’t the porch AMAZING?!!! I had a really cute porch last fall, but this year I’m too cheap to do anything. 🙂 Ah well.

      Thanks for stopping by!

Loves those ideas. But I have to tell myself those are created by a team of twenty people, and or people that do not have four children. Otherwise it just makes me feel lazy…

I know what you mean about busy weekends as that is what our life has been like since summer.

Those are all cute Halloween ideas. I barely get around to decorating for the holiday let alone having a party.

My mom’s house is always decorated for every holiday & season. And I hate it that I never get around to doing it. Then she reminds me that her house was never decorated when she had little kids. So I try to remember that.

I’m getting tired of busy weekends, but I’m grateful that I have great family & friends who are inviting us to go do things with them. It could be worse. 🙂

Oh, I love the idea of having a Halloween party on Pinterest! I’m still debating whether I should have a Halloween party for my daughters and their friends. We had one last year, but I don’t want it to become a tradition!

Parties are so much to have, even on Pinterest! lol

My MIL had a Halloween every year when she was growing up, so it’s not a bad tradition to have if it does turn into one!

I actually don’t love Halloween either…I am more of an apple cider, pumpkin bread, fresh apples kind of gal. Just call me “Harvest” (wink). However, I do like the living vicariously thru Pinterest. Too fun! Hope you have a great October even though it is busy. Sorry about the squash bugs getting your pumpkins. How sad! I did have to fight off powdery mildew, but it still won which means I would have had 10 pumpkins, but they didn’t make it.

Yes, I’m with you, I’m more of a “Harvest.” I love the fall & all things fall. But Halloween has never been my favorite.

WE LIVE FOR PUMPKIN BREAD! I made two loaves last night. My husband & son ate an entire loaf last night.

I talked to my grandmother about the squash bugs and she told me that they are pretty much impossible to get rid of & to try next year and to not reuse the soil that the pumpking (and squash) were planted in. So…I’m going to start all over next year!

Love the pictures, and the ideas. I don’t dress up for Halloween either, but that’s because I’m pretty sure that I’m the scarier than any costume could ever be. Instead, I will just sit out front and hand out candy, while my husband and son head up the street in character.

Seeing all the kids dressed up is fun, that’s the best part about getting to hand out the candy (besides eating the candy yourself right? 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

I’m not much of a Halloween person either. But since I have Princess, I got to get in the spirit. I have yet to buy her costume. I gotta get on the ball. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and wishing me a happy sits day. I never thought I’d be writing about going natural. So far, I’m enjoying my new locks. Thanks again! Be sure to stop by again!
