1.) Why do you blog?
I started my blog a few months after Lboy was born. But I didn’t write but maybe once a month. I started the blog because I was looking for an outlet to be creative, to give myself an identity beyond motherhood, & to have a hobby that I could do at home. But I was so overwhelmed with how to get “read” that I just didn’t write much. I had no idea that there were networks that let you meet other bloggers until one day in March. I signed my blog up, did some work on the layout, & started writing daily. It was the best feeling in the world to “meet” people from all over the world all from the comfort of my living room. Being at home all the time was a HUGE HUGE adjustment–blogging made/makes it so much easier.
2.) What do you blog about?
Motherhood, me, insecurities, marriage, & miscellaneous stuff.
3.) What do you find to be the biggest reward you get from blogging?
A connection to a bigger world.
An identity all for myself, even if I’m writing about my kiddo. It’s all mine.
4.) How long have you been blogging?
I started my blog in October or November of 09, but only wrote 5 posts. I consider my actual blogoversary to be March 22, 2010. It has been the best 3 1/2 months ever–I’m never going to stop!
5.) Let’s hear the story behind your blog title! 🙂
My blog used to be called “A Byrd’s Eye View.” This was obviously before anyone was reading it. Then in March I started thinking that I needed something different so I started taking the word “mommy” and wanted to make an alliteration. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I like it, and sometimes I don’t. But that’s who I am in the blogosphere & I’m sticking with it!
